SELFPORTRAIT - a documentary by Margreth Olin
The book and exhibition GATEKEEPER will be released in conjunction with ‘Self-portrait’ - a documentary film produced by Margreth Olin, Katja Høgseth and Espen Wallin featuring Lene Marie Fossen. The documentary Self Portrait is a portrait of an artist and a portrait of a deadly disease. Lene Marie Fossen was a gifted photographer who suffered from severe anorexia. Self Portrait is a film about the power of art, but it also raises important questions about what treatment one who suffers from severe anorexia needs.
Susanne Sundfør produced the music.
The film is a co-production between Speranza Films, NRK and ARTE, and will be screened in cinemas in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France and Germany premiering in January 2020.
Self Portrait is being presented at film festivals across Europe spring of 2020. It receives massive attention and has won several awards, such as The Audience Award at BioGraFilm in Italy, The Audience Award in Krakow, nominations in München and the Regional Price at One World International Documentary Filmfestival in Krakov.
